The Young Ones Nursery offer a fun packed range of daily activities that the children take part in and enjoy every day.

A structured routine is very important in nursery as it gives the children security everyday and helps them to build in confidence. However it is also very important to encourage children to try new things and have freedom to explore their world through new ideas and experiences.

Our fun days really promote this and the children gain a lot out of them as well as having a lot of fun.

Royal Wedding Party Print E-mail

On Thursday 28th April 2011, the nursery made great preparations for the Royal Wedding of the year!

The children all made their own royal crowns and royal scones and we enjoyed cucumber sandwiches, royal music and home made  scones with jam and cream.

All the children wore their crowns and waved their flags with pride on the special day. They were so excited and what a Royal Tea Party we had!

Red Nose Fun Day Print E-mail

On Friday 18th March 2011, we celebrated Red Nose Day and raised money for Comic Relief having a Clowns Funday! We all dressed up as clowns and enjoyed a party lunch, a face pulling competition, a disco and a balloon race. What a funny day we had!

Beach Party Print E-mail

Our beach party day was full of excitement. A tropical theme was used for the fancy dress which all the staff and children took part in the fun. Not only was there a bouncy castle but we had our own ice-cream van in our garden. Everyone enjoyed choosing their own combinations of ice-cream.

Animal Week Print E-mail

We invited the RSPCA into the nursery to meet the children. They came with a variety of animals, a tortoise, a dog, rabbits and a caged bird. The children had an enjoyable time petting the animals and asking questions. The guide dog’s for the blind attended with their dog.

A member of staff brought their dog in and Dexter dog showed off his training with tricks. Each child was given a soft toy animal with the child’s choice of name on it.
